CSIC: Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas - Instituto de Carboquímica - Spain
CSIC is the largest research organisation in Spain, with over a hundred multidisciplinary Institutes and more than 2000 scientific staff. It is a part of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Department of Energy & Environment, I. Carboquimica (CSIC) is mainly active in research related circulating fluidized bed coal and biomass processing with particular emphasis on the modelling and simulation of carbon combustion efficiency, SO2 retention and modelling the fluid-dynamics of CFB risers, Chemical Looping Combustion and Chemical Looping Reforming. The Department consist of about 40 persons, with eight persons working in projects related with gasification and reforming processes and CO2 capture. Department has been a technology provider in EU 4th, 5th , VI FP and ECSC in projects related with fluidised bed combustion, clean coal technologies, hot gas cleaning, CO2 capture and hydrogen production by chemical looping reforming.
